There's no blanket prohibition. The ABA has issued no rule against AI-generated profile photos, and most state bars haven't addressed it. Individual firms set their own standards — most have no written policy, so if the headshot meets the visual standard it's fine. If your firm requires a contracted photographer, treat it as a conversation with marketing.
State bar directories generally accept attorney-submitted photos with minimum resolution requirements (typically 600×600 or 1024×1024). Our downloads are full-resolution and clear those easily.
